Well we both couldn't have wished for a more relaxing, peaceful, chilled out time here. The location is beautiful. The gite is well equipped although we didn't spend much time in it. The pool is great.
The wildlife is a wonder to behold. Saw kingfishers, woodpeckers, red squirrels and coypu. I even learnt how to fish.

The carp fishing is tough, I spent a lot of time walking and looking and decided the best approach was stalking. Feed small amounts and use boillie mesh to protect your bait from crayfish.
Helen caught lots of bream, tench, a nice fat crucian carp and a 12lbs common {the best news is loves fishing}. I had carp to 17lbs but the big fish are very cute.
So to sum up, what a holiday, so relaxing, beautiful surroundings, the perfect rest and I have a new fishing buddy, so it's a win win.

Our 11th stay at Les Songes, another peaceful, tranquil fortnight with good weather generally. Plenty of opportunities to use the pool and the gite as usual nicely kept.
I had 14 carp 28, 22 and 20 lbs, 10 doubles and a single mainly caught on the surface. I lost what I think was the big mirror, beaten yet again by that clever fish!

This has been the most relaxing holiday I've ever had.
Lee and the children fished day and night, I've laid by the lake or pool sunbathing, gone on runs, bird watched and watched movies in the evenings.
Lee has caught carp during the nights catching his P. B. at 30lbs 1 oz. The children have caught lots of bream while float fishing.
I can't wait to come back!

Thanks for our lovely holiday the accommodation and peaceful setting was lovely.
The fishing was a little hectic with lots of fish but alas the "monsters" avoided us this time.
We will return!

We have had a great week! The pool is perfect and the fishing top notch!
I had 10 carp the biggest Mirror was over 30lbs and another at 29lbs. The best fight of the week came from a 28lbs Common. All the others were between 14 and 24lbs.

I have never had to work so hard on a lake to catch carp, so don't think this will be easy.
Good luck, we know they are in there!

Had a great week here mainly fishing in this fantastic location.
We enjoyed the wildlife seeing Red Squirrels and Kingfishers but the best time was in the evenings when all sorts kicked off with toads and frogs croaking, Tawny and Barn owls calling and screeching with an abundance of splashing in the lake from who knows what Carp rolling,
Pike hunting, Coypu jumping in?

A very nice time had at Les Songes, very very relaxing for the none fishermen. The pool was fantastic. The boys caught lots of good size fish. Will definitely come again.

Fantastic Accommodation, everything you need for a good weeks fishing.
Fishing is hard at times but find the fish and you will catch.

Our 9th year at Les Songes. The big Common and big Mirror were both around and I came close to catching them three times off the surface but smaller carp beat them to the hook bait
each time. Those two are very clever fish but I will be back in 2018, so watch out.

Although its the last week of April we have had a few frosty mornings but have enjoyed our stay. Not a bad catch for the week as I only fished days,. The catch included lots of bream, 1 tench and 7 carp to 29 lbs 14 oz.

We had a wonderful time. The gite was a perfect setting for our holiday, we ventured out to Poitiers & La Rochelle which were fantastic. Plenty to see and do. Hubby manged to catch various carp beating his personal best with a 31 lbs 4 oz Mirror.
Paul & Emma, Lincolnshire
Amazing week, you spare no attention to detail in your wonderful cottage, so relaxing the whole week was such a pleasure. On the last day Peter landed a 35 lb 1 oz mirror, so that made him very happy!

We think the gite is superb, smart and clean. We have been totally relaxed here and wish we didn't have to go home.

This is our 7th year running and has not disappointed. Weather mostly great, up to 40c by the pool. The fishing has been productive with 19 Carp although the biggest fish have been elusive.
Simon, Rebecca & Sylvie,
The weather has been very warm, we have really relaxed into the French way of life, a very peaceful setting with a wide variety of wildlife.'

Jackie & Grahame Sleigh, Lancashire
'A wonderful stay at a wonderful gite. The fishing was challenging but had a good catch which included 5 20lb+ carp.'
Richard, Ben and Brett, Cheshire
The weather has been superb. The Carp decided to spawn, that's my excuse for not catching
any. Otherwise the fishing has been good with Bream by the dozen, Crucians, Tench and 2 Pike. The wildlife is the icing on the cake!
Jon & Barbara, Devon
'A nice relaxing time and very comfortable, nice to see and hear the local wildlife..'

'What a fantastic place to visit! Very well appointed gite in beautiful surroundings. The fishing was interesting but the carp were above my pay grade. We shall have to come back and try again...'
John and Barbara Smith, Devon
'We have had a very pleasant, relaxing stay with amazing hot weather. The gite has everything needed to make it a great holiday and the pool is great. Fishing has been enjoyable if not challenging but have managed to catch Roach, Bream, Pike and a solitary cruchian carp - all lovely fish...'
Viv and John, Hertfordshire
'What can we say...beautiful gite, fantastic setting, great pool, amazing wildlife, even the weather was great. Had a very restful week which is just what we needed- wished we had booked 2 weeks. Would love to come back next year...'
Mick and Jeanette Place, Leeds
'This is our 5th year running here and we've enjoyed it every bit as much as previous years. Simon was delighted to land his first 30lb carp from this lake. He had afew close encounters with the mega-fish - the 50lb one- but yet again he eluded him. A good reason to return!!...'
Rebecca, Simon and Sylvie Edwards, Surrey
'Had a lovely quiet week here, it is so peaceful by the lake watching the animals and the sun sets. Thanks to Penny for her advice and friendly welcome, and thaks to Karen and Ian for letting us spend our holiday in their lovely gite. We would recommend this gite to anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful away from it all holiday...'
Tony and Suzy Witten, Watford
'WHAT A FISH!! Was a terrific bite, after inital run was long and dour. My wife helped me net it - my scales only reach 50lb, including net, so i am claiming to have caught the BIG'UN...'
Malcolm and Lynn Taylor, Nottingham
29lb Leather Carp, 10lb Mirror, 4lb Bream and more Rudd, Roach and Perch than i can remember. Amazing weather, sad to leave!...'
